The New Microsoft Planner - Monday & ClickUp Killer? 🤯

New Microsoft Planner: A Game-Changer in Task Management?

With the New Microsoft Planner set for release in early 2024

Microsoft has announced the Release of the New Planner Application that will be coming in early 2024. It combines Microsoft To Do, Microsoft Planner, and Microsoft Project On The Web, but is it now good enough to compete with Monday.com and ClickUp?

Microsoft has created a kind of productivity paralysis when it comes to using these tools for tasks and planning, as the task can be set across the ecosystem, from Outlook, Onenote, Todo, Planner, Project and Microsoft List, and it can get seriously confusing and unless you start out with a clear plan of what should be used when you can end up suffering from productivity paralysis or todo list Hell for your personal work and that which you collaborate on with colleges.

Microsoft work lab research shows that 64% of workers say the tools don't integrate well with their company work management processes, 59% blame collaboration tools and say they don't align well with how their team prefer to work, and a Huge 72% of the employees there asked want their collaboration tools to be more compatible with one another.

Microsoft's multiple-app solution has created space for companies like Monday and Clickup to come along and point a spotlight on how Microsoft apps have been too confusing for teams and companies to integrate them properly within their workplace.

The release of the NEW PLANNER will go a long way to helping remove the confusion of which app to use within the Microsoft Ecosystem for personal task management, collaborative planning, or complex projects.

The expected benefits will include allowing users to easily find personal tasks that have been created across the ecosystem, more powerful team planning with templates and suggested goals and Gantt charts, scheduling and resourcing tools for creating project plans, and a Copilot AI integration.

So, will this new iteration of Planner outperform Monday and Clickup?

While it may not entirely eclipse these platforms, Microsoft 365 users will find a comprehensive Task and Planner app integrated into their existing subscription. This eliminates the need to seek out superior all-in-one task and planner apps elsewhere.

The new Planner ensures that organisations can streamline their planning and task management within Microsoft’s ecosystem. This not only saves teams from toggling between different applications to update their tasks and projects but also cuts down on the costs associated with third-party subscriptions.

As an avid user of Microsoft Solutions, I initially found the task management apps somewhat perplexing.

However, once I understood which app to use for what purpose, they proved to be quite effective.

The introduction of the new Planner demonstrates Microsoft’s commitment to user feedback and its dedication to perfecting this all-in-one solution.

I can't wait to start using it in early 2024.
